| Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life
for us! Yes, it was that time of year again! Time to carve out
our boats, coat them with nice, slick paint, trim the sails, mount the
keels, and exercise our lungs for the Raingutter Regatta!
We had a great turnout this year, with colorful boats built for
speed. There were even a couple new sail designs making their
debut this year, some effective, some not so. |
 |
| Taking a less competitive approach as we have in some of
our recent races, we had open racing between all ranks and Dens.
Competitors were chosen by luck of the draw. The sun was warn, with a
gentle breeze making the day very comfortable. Only occasionally
did Mother Nature decide she wanted to race, at which point the Scouts
stood back and let the wind sail their boats to the end of the lane. |

| After races and a wide assortment of pot-luck snacks,
every boy received a medal and certificate of award. It was a great
day of racing, all thanks to our Cubmaster Mr. Craig, Ms. Cynthia, and
the Scouts and parents that brought those wonderful racing boats. |
